Living Room or Sitting Room?

๐Ÿ’ก Before we go any further let's address what you call this room. Living Room? Sitting Room? Lounge? Family Room? There seem to be so many options when it comes to naming this area, but my go-to is the Living Room which is strange because I donโ€™t live in there. Itโ€™s somewhere where me and my family get together to watch football, movies etc. So shouldnโ€™t it be called the family room? ๐Ÿค” Iโ€™ve also grown up with my parents calling it the sitting room, but now Iโ€™m liking the idea of calling it a lounge! Ha-ha, I donโ€™t know, what are your thoughts?

In the world of interior design, trends are changing, and the colours we choose for our Living Room play a significant role in setting the tone and ambience. From soothing neutrals to bold statements, let's explore the popular living room paint colours that are capturing our hearts and attention this year. ๐ŸŽจ

  1. Pink ๐Ÿฉท As you know from last week blog has become a popular option, especially Blush Pink. You can read it here - Could Pink be for you? It creates a warm, cosy inviting feel.

2. Plaster - This is the new craze and Iโ€™m here for it! Weโ€™ve just picked this colour to add to a clientโ€™s living room and decided to run it through to their kitchen and dining room. It adds that calming effect youโ€™d want in your living room and can be paired with almost any colour. It emphasises architectural features and hides any imperfections. People would change the direction with every stroke and that really creates that plaster finish, this way adds some texture to the room too! Whatโ€™s not to love?

3. A calming green ๐Ÿ’š - Sage green is currently the biggest colour trend of all of the green shades. Green is such a great colour to use for your interiors as is connected with nature. It creates a calming chilled feeling. Layered with darker green it can also be a great and fun way of adding depth, character and warmth to your room.

4. Scarlett red ๐ŸŒน - Iโ€™ve grown to love this colour, I used to think it was too bright and red always represents evil, Right? Well, thatโ€™s what I thought anyway until I researched further into red and of course, itโ€™s the colour of love! This bright vibrant colour adds energy to a room, itโ€™s paired great with natural materials but also with colours like teal!

5. Finally a colour to watch out for from autumn through to winter is a plum colour ๐ŸŸฃ . Although it will be a cosy colour in the winter itโ€™s also known to be vibrant in the summer too. This rich colour literally represents richness, did you know it is the colour of royalty? Make sure to change the paired colours throughout the year and it will work well.

Thank you for reading!

I hope youโ€™ve enjoyed today's blog as much as Iโ€™ve enjoyed putting it together for you. There are so many more options out there like near black, off-white or even a lighter shade of purple.
